Don’t stress….it’s so easy to say but what is stress?
Stress causes a surge of hormones in your body. When your body detects stress, a small region in the base of the brain called the hypothalamus reacts by stimulating the body to produce hormones that include adrenaline and cortisol. These hormones help you to deal with any threats or pressure you are facing – which is called the ‘fight or flight’ response.
Why do we stress?
Everyone needs a certain amount of stress or pressure to live well. It’s what gets you out of bed in the morning and motivates you throughout the day. However, stress becomes problematic when there’s too much or too little.
STRESS can affect how you feel emotionally, mentally and physically and also how you behave. You may feel over whelmed, anxious or fearful, lacking self-esteem, constant worrying, headaches, dizziness, sleep problems, eating too much or too little. Your behaviour changes for snapping at people, avoiding things or people you are having problems, drinking or smoking more.
How can we relief stress?
Take a deep breath. Have you ever had someone tell you to take a deep breath when overwhelmed or upset? Well, this advice can go a long way. Breathing in deeply may seem unnatural at first, but once you feel the actual benefits, you will be more conscious of the way you breathe within your day-to-day life. Sit quietly and breath in and imagen to blow out all the problems that you are facing.

There are many studies that demonstrate how meditation can have a positive impact on our health, from reducing stress and anxiety to improving sleep and increasing concentration. Meditation helps sharpen the mind and gain more focus, which in turn helps you to better manage tension, anger and frustration. As you become more self-conscious about your energy and are able to re-direct this energy to how and where you want, you will become a calmer person, decreasing your stress levels and feeling more confident. That newly found confidence will help you to better manage your health and mental strength.
Hypnotherapy is a safe, powerful psychotherapeutic tool which can be used to break the negative cycle of depression and anxiety. It can help with addictions, anger, blood pressure, weight control, lack of confidence, insomnia, migraines, nail biting, nightmares, obsessions, panic attacks, fears, phobias, stress and many more. In hypnosis the mind is very receptive to new ideas and open to suggestions which encourage more sensible, balanced or helpful attitudes to reality. Hypnosis is a deep state of relaxation during which suggestions are made to create beneficial changes in ideas or behaviour and is a very pleasant and relaxing experience.”
